The performance companies at OYSP are composed of talented singers, dancers and actors selected by auditions each May. There are two different companies: musical theater company and dance company. Our company members participate in regional — and sometimes national — competitions, as well as other OYSP shows and events. The OYSP companies have won numerous awards including the prestigious Broadway Cup at the 2004 Access Broadway Nationals in Orlando. OYSP has also been named “Best Dance Studio” and “Best Performing Arts Studio “at the Access Broadway Regionals numerous times. Alumni of our program have gone on to study in some of the top musical theater and dance programs in the country, including NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Texas Christian University, Oklahoma, Boston Conservatory, the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Alvin Ailey School.
